The house wants to have the best of both worlds; It must satisfy the needs of its dwellers by being cozy and comfortable, not to mention beautiful. At the same time, it must be nature-sensitive. This tropical pine forest house design is we believe a model that demonstrates that holistic relation between humans and the environment can be achieved.
Pine or coniferous forest are among the type of woodlands that is suitable for living. I personally love it because it provides a quiet and gloomy atmosphere. The grim atmosphere offers an ambiance where you can escape the bustling and stressful life. Pine forest is a great place to build your dream home, too, if you’re like me, who seeks a gloomy set-up, just perfect for contemplation and relaxation.

A Cozy Tropical Pine Forest House Design

The setting in this pine forest house design is in tropical pine forests. Tropical pine forests are among the few forest types that exist in the world. Widely spaced conifers dominate the grassy forest floor, making way for a cozy house. Unlike the temperate pine forest, the tropical pine forest offers a warmer climate.
Design Goals
The house is in a tropical pine forest, which means the designer has to deal with a cold and wet climate. And because its a woodland, the place is a protected area. Cutting trees to clear the land for the building is not an option. Fortunately, the tree spacing is so broad that cutting trees will not be necessary. The lot is near the road, so construction logistics will be a lot easier. More importantly, the house will be accessible at all times.
Airy
Being in the tropical climate, airflow is one factor that is being considered. Restricting the airflow enables the build-up of moisture inside the house, which makes it vulnerable to mildews. Not to mention, extra humidity will make the dwellers feel hot and uncomfortable. The screens allow continuous airflow in the house but still provides privacy to its dwellers. It also adds texture to the building’s design.

Lighting
The windows allow natural lighting to enter the house. This minimizes the use of energy to illuminate the interiors, adding a point to being eco-friendly.

View Deck
The pine forest provides excellent natural views. A view deck is a vital feature of the house. It allows for a relaxing area for contemplation or hanging out with people while enjoying nature.

The Green Roof
Turf roof is added to this design. The designer wants to experiment with this concept. This came from the roof garden of The Five Points of Architecture by the architect Le Corbusier.

Here, the turf roof means that whatever natural space is taken on the ground must be placed on the roof.
Minimal Environmental Impact
Three things make this house environmentally friendly. First, tree cutting is not necessary to clear the land for the building. Thanks to the widely spaced trees in a tropical pine forest, the house can be built among the trees. The footprint of the house fills up the spaces between the trees.
Second, the house is raised above the ground. The ground is minimally untouched, with the exemption of the garage area and the columns.
Finally, the area around the house will remain untouched, only with minimal weed trimmings.

Contemporary with Industrial Touch
The contemporary design concept provides the designer with more flexible and freer options. A warm and cozy feeling can be incorporated, and industrial and practical feels can be added. Contemporary designs are less restrictive, and it is open to a variety of design concepts.

The Ultimate Goal of Pine Forest House Design
In the end, the house wants to have the best of both worlds; It must satisfy the needs of its dwellers by being cozy and comfortable, not to mention beautiful. At the same time, it must be nature-sensitive.
